This part of Fownhope parish is north of the village and is adjacent to Rudge Wood, which can be seen in the background to the right. A former cider press is in the foreground, which received a memorial stone slab to the local bare-knuckle fighter Tom Spring (1795-1851) in 1954. Here is a close-up of the memorial Image
