On Missies Lane opposite the lane to Laverton and Kirkby Malzeard is this 25cm square stone which stands 60cm high. It is at the top of the bank in front of some trees. It seems to have the remnants of legends on all four sides which is rather strange except that there is evidence of a nearby track southwards across Galphay Moor towards Lumley. Travelling from Pateley Bridge it is the fifth old stone still to be found by the roadside. Milestone Society ID - YN_XPATMe
