The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Arts on the Gateshead quayside viewed from the Newcastle quayside. The centre occupies the former Baltic Flour Mill , built by Joseph Rank of Rank Hovis in 1950. It closed in 1984 and the arts centre was opened in 2002.
