This is a tiny patch of community woodland that has been rescued and managed by the Woodland Trust. It slopes down from Netpool Road towards the Mwldan stream from where there is a footbridge into the town on the opposite slope - the roof of the market hall being visible on the skyline here. Although the area was neglected and overgrown, trees have been planted and this now a wildlife habitat, specifically for the meadow ant.
