This appropriately-adorned gravestone in Cardigan cemetery records the death in 1887 of Herbert Davies, captain of the brig Triton. This was the ship that regularly carried local emigrants across the ocean to New York in the mid C19. They included, from Llandysul, the maternal forbears of the architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
