A bungalow called Cwm Fynnon stands on a bend in the track in the north of this square. In the foreground is visible the bridge which carried the road over the Lampeter to Aberaeron Branch Line of the Carmarthen and Aberystwyth Railway. The thirteen mile branch line was opened in 1911 but lasted just over fifty years, closing to passenger traffic in 1965. The last goods train was in 1973 and the track was lifted shortly afterwards.
