Remains of Second World War heavy anti aircraft battery at West Marsh, Barrow Haven, which mounted four 4.5-inch guns with GL radar in 1942, and was manned by 286 Battery of the 91st Royal Artillery regiment in 1941. It was retained as an Off-Site Nucleus Force Battery in 1946, and is now scheduled. Initially the site had two emplacements and a command post, but three more emplacements and a larger command post had been added by mid 1942. In April 1941 it had four 3.7-inch mobile guns, by two static guns 4.5-inch guns in August 1941, and a further two 4.5-inch guns in September 1941. The site was probably abandoned by 1950.
