This very tall font cover is most probably about to be reduced in size to enable the font to be moved further into the main area of the nave. At the moment, the nave is separated from the main body of the church by a glass screen and so cannot be used in baptismal services. The font cover is not unique as there is an identical cover in a church in Ipswich.
