Looking east down High St parts of four significant local buildings can be seen reaching skyward. On the left are the Ham Hill Stone quoins of Dorchester Museum. The crenellations and gargoyles are on top of St Peters church. The clock tower belongs to the Corn Exchange. The spire on the right is that of Holy Trinity church. Lower down with his feet almost on the ground is the green bronze of William Barnes, Dorset poet
