The 1890s covered market by J & J Leeming is grade II* listed (list entry 1281516) for various reasons including being 'a rare surviving example of a C19 glazed market hall built with a central octagonal lantern, a complex form and one which gave the building the appearance of a cathedral to commerce', and in particular for the elaborate glass and cast iron roof structure.
