This building appears (unlabelled) on the 1962 map with a phone box outside it. Another website confirms this was the telephone exchange that opened in 1938 and closed in 1969 when a new exchange was opened next door. https://telephone-exchanges.org.uk/exchanges/halifax-exchanges/
