Dating back to at least 1869 as a beerhouse, it used "Old" in its name to differentiate it from several other "Ebor"s in the city. It closed in 2020 and was turned into flats. (Information from Hugh Murray: "A Directory of York pubs 1455-2004"; Voyager, 2004).
