Carved stone post by the A4, in parish of Speen (West Berkshire District), Bath Road; at junction with Majendie Close, East of Hare & Hounds PH, opposite Speen Manor, hidden from main road behind box bushes in a well maintained flower bed, on South side of road. Bath Road limestone shoulders, erected by the Speenhamland to Marlborough turnpike trust in the 18th century. Inscription reads:- : To / NEWBURY / 1 : : To / LONDON / 57 : : To / Hungerford / 8 : Carved benchmark bottom right side. Grade II listed.
