Officially designated as Lewes Town Centre 28 public footpath, it links School Hill, the A277, with Lansdown Place, the B2193. The path is very old dating back to medieval times when it was recorded as Pinwell Street, later becoming Church Lane and then Church Twitten in 1954 to differentiate it from Church Lane in South Malling. see also Image
