This illustrated village sign of the East Anglian type is an unusual sight in Warwickshire. The local features that are depicted include the Fosse Way, a Roman road, the Norman motte and bailey castle, medieval open field strip cultivation, which can still be seen as ridge and furrow in the grassland, later sheep farming, and the Oxford Canal, constructed in the late 18th century.
