Portgordon Harbour - Gurkha Plaque

This former fishing harbour is now a sad and sorry sight. The plaque commemorating the work of 69 Gurkha Independant (sic) Field Squadron in substantially repairing the harbour during Exercise "Famous Grouse" 1986-87 has been nullified by the huge bank of stones which now (2025) block the harbour mouth. The harbour was originally built in 1870-74 in a village founded by the Duke of Gordon, hence the name. www.portgordoncommunity.co.uk
