Classic 1930s Art Deco cinema, architect Alfred J. Thraves of Nottingham. It owes its survival in large part to the fact that with the Bingo revolution only the ground floor was converted to Bingo, with a smaller cinema in the balcony. This survived until 2006, but despite efforts by locals to reopen it as a cinema – the Bingo continued to 2018 – it closed in 2019. It was then bought by the Arc chain and reopened as a 4-screen cinema in 2020.
