The station was rebuilt and resited in 1895 when the bridge from which this view was taken was built. The bridge replaced the pair of level crossings on both the Midland and Great Northern Railway lines. At that time the main road was what is now Station Terrace. The level crossing was situated about where the line starts curving to the right.
