A very uninviting area; these subways segregate pedestrians from the road traffic of the 1960s inner ring road, in accordance with the town planning principles of that era. Many of the pedestrians traversing them today appear to be East Asian students circulating between their digs and the businesses of the Birmingham Chinatown, and they will not be getting a good impression of Britain from these shabby tunnels and canyons. The more modern building with the convex, blue-tinted glass front is the Radisson Blu hotel.
