The font dates from the thirteenth century and is made of Purbeck Marble https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1172064?section=official-list-entry The ladies in the south aisle are sorting out bones dug from the Anglo-Saxon burial ground to the south east of the present village. An archaelogical dig there has been ongoing for almost 30 years and is still not complete.
