The original centre was situated in the heart of Dundee city centre when opened in 1969. The new custom-built centre was officially opened on 31 July 1995. Its modern facilities include six dog kennels, six cat pens, a small animal room, a reception office, control room for the Inspectorate, vet room and meeting room.
