A Railway Touring Company special from Liverpool Lime Street to Holyhead. Steam hauled by Black 5 Stanier 45212 Image tailed by a diesel. Due to the restrictions in the North West as a result of the heatwave and dry conditions., it had been diesel hauled to Chester by a class 47 - 47815 Great Western. The same would apply on the return journey.
