Original national grid pylon (S2, single circuit line tower), built to the original Milliken Brothers design for the UK, the only known such line of towers in England (the remainder are in Scotland). This line, the first of two 132 kV power lines constructed between Bedford and Little Barford, is believed to be SEE PL2 (South East England primary line contract 2), late 20s/early 30s. (Most original grid contracts using Milliken-designed towers used a revised design distinguished amongst other means by bracing of the line tower peaks.) Viewed from Hawk Drive, outside Scott Primary School. Too bad about the weather :(
