Villagers remember their lost at this sacrifice cross near the main road through Woolverton. Landowner Mr R.H.P. Batten-Pooll of Rode Manor donated the land, the memorial was unveiled on 4th October, 1926, by Capt Arthur Batten-Pooll V.C., M.C., and dedicated by the Bishop of Bath and Wells.
