A victim of the Beeching cuts in the 1960s, this is the former Much Wenlock branch of the Great Western Railway, which ran from Buildwas to that town, then along the lower part of Wenlock Edge, through stations at Presthope, Longville, Rushbury and Eaton to join the main line south to Craven Arms not far southwest of this point. The vehicle tracks seen here appear to be a combination of farm traffic and access to a small forestry business 500-600 yards further on
