A private road linking The Drive with Straight Half Mile that forms part of the current Maresfield Park residential estate. Most likely laid out between 1825-40 when the Lords of the Manor at Maresfield Park reconfigured the roads on the estate, closing down the old route north to Lampool and west to Horney Common and replacing it with Straight Half Mile, requiring new access for the manor's farm. The last Lord at Maresfield Park was Alexander zu Munster, a German national, who lost it when the Government forcibly requisitioned it during World War One. Post war, the estate was broken up and sold off for development with the house itself demolished in 1924. Development of this road began in the 1930s, and it was very much geared towards the more affluent end of the market characterised today by the hedges and fences that hide away the large houses beyond them.
