The old staging post of Carlops sits on the A702 road between Edinburgh and Abington. The famous 'Allan Ramsay' inn lies just to the north of the old church. Carlops is one of the oldest communities in Scotland and, it's believed, the church's presence is as old as the settlement. See image 'The Village of Carlops.
