The pub is known locally as 'The Rosie' and is supplied by Wye Valley Brewery. It was built in New Road, Bromyard in 1823 and became a public house in 1848. It is believed to be the only pub in England to bear the name Rose & Lion. The public bar is known to regulars as 'The House of Commons' and the lounge as 'The House of Lords.'
