This ford on the road from Chetnole to Leigh (pronounced lie) is signed as "deep ford". It is steep sided and in winter it can be very deep compared with its width. On a spring day like this one, with not much water flowing, it is only a few inches deep. This is the view from the middle of the ford looking south.
