The toll was where the road to Portsoy diverged from the road to Banff. The toll house is instantly recognisable by the window set at 45º to the road, from which the tollkeeper could see all approaching traffic. The chimney is all but identical to that at Image], though any further similarity is masked by the later harling and modern windows.
