A grey and pink marble horse trough, dating from 1897. It is inscribed: UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE GLASGOW & W OF SCOT S.P.C.A. 1897 On the splash panel behind is inscribed: Ca canny ['go carefully'] The horse trough was originally installed beside Cannieburn Toll, but was moved in 1973. A metal plaque records this move: THIS HORSE TROUGH WAS ORIGINALLY LOCATED AT CANNIESBURN TOLL, BEARSDEN, AND WAS RE-ERECTED AT THIS LOCATION BY ORDER OF BEARSDEN TOWN COUNCIL IN 1973 It is Category C listed https://portal.historicenvironment.scot/apex/f?p=1505:300:::::VIEWTYPE,VIEWREF:designation,LB48602.
