Looking down Northumberland Street, Vauxhall, to the existing railway bridge, beyond which is, appropriately, Viaduct Street. Plans say "Viaduct Street to be closed to vehicular traffic below proposed structure." Dwarfing the three-storey flats is the steelwork of one of the series of viaducts that take HS2 up and over existing lines east of New Street station before gently descending to the buffers in Curzon Street. A West Midlands train on the Cross-City line (Redditch-Lichfield) lends scale.
