This fine detached house, which sits alongside the River Coquet, was built in 1617 but incorporates earlier fabric and was remodelled and extended during the 19th century. The house, which is also known simply as Peth Foot, was described in the 1992 edition of Pevsner's 'Buildings of England Northumberland' as retaining, "a doorway dated 1617 (beneath an inscribed panel with a long garbled quotation from Proverbs) and two immensely thick (2.5 metres/8 foot) walls which may survive from a still earlier tower guarding the approach to the bridge". The site also contains a separate self contained Coach House which has been described as, "perfect for individual living". The house is Grade II Listed.
