Within the area of King George’s Field, the view looks northwest toward the edge of the sports field and the area near the entrance gate on Craig Road. For the most part the boundary is marked by a hedge and bushes, with Craig Road being on the far side of it. In earlier times, Craig Road between Barns of Craig and the Inch Bridge, where Ferryden roundabout now lies, used to connect through Craig Crescent, but with Ferryden Primary School now being in that area of housing rather than in central Ferryden near the pier as it used to be, the lower part of Craig Road was extended to the junction with Oglivie Terrace and Burnside Place. The modern Ferryden Primary School has a vehicle exclusion zone to improve air quality and road safety and to encourage walking or cycling to school. (In the far distance, the Grampian Mountains appear blue due to the effect of Rayleigh scattering of light where shorter wavelengths, and especially blue, is scattered more than longer wavelengths.)
