Municipal Boundary Marker on the east side of the B4125 Portland Road/Shireland Road against the front garden wall of no.144 Shireland Road. Inscription is SMETHWICK and CITY OF BIRMINGHAM vertically in raised letters in adjacent rectangular recessed panels. On the former boundary of Birmingham and Smethwick parishes and boroughs, now City of Birmingham and Sandwell Borough. Smethwick parish and borough was created in 1894 and abolished in 1966.
