The core of the building is a 16th century farmhouse, obviously much altered and extended over the years. To the left of the gable end seen here, the side wall of the house is heavily timber-framed. The whole structure was Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1239402 & https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101239402-atchley-manor-ryton in 1984.
