The pub retains its original name, but since an earlier photo in 2007 Image has had a makeover, with new windows and the two entrance doors being replaced with a single central one. According to CAMRA, it was built in the 1930s along with surrounding housing, and is named after George, 3rd Earl of Cumberland and 13th Lord de Clifford, who owned Wrose village in the 16th Century.
