This plane tree at the corner of Oakfield Road and Quernmore Road stands unpruned unlike all its pollarded compatriots along the road. This tree was slated for felling by Haringey Council and arrest warrants were issued two years ago to stop protesters occupying the tree. Their placard demanding that Allianz Aviva stop the felling remains in place and I wonder if the council or their agents have simply lost the nerve to proceed with the felling. Given the level of local opposition it would doubtless be a vote loser.
