The 'Private Road' on the left in the foreground leads to Doddington Windmill, of which just a ruined tower remains https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1126577 . The row of houses on the left is gradually being smartened up, a process which can be seen in many Fenland villages.
