An old cottage here is used as a utility room by the adjacent house. I peeped in the window. Amazing to imagine that this little cottage was someone's whole home. A one up, one down. I sat on the green with my back against the post and had my lunch (cheese and chutney sandwich, crisps, coffee and a Tunnock's caramel wafer chocolate bar, finished off with three chunks of red watermelon. The sun was warm. I could have napped. I lay down with my daysack as my pillow and dozed for 10 minutes. Then I couldn't gain my feet and had to phone the fire brigade... I shuffled off like a drunk who has survived a natural disaster and only got going again as I was walking downhill...
