A coal mining rights marker allocated by the "Verderers Court" in 1834 or thereafter. It lies against a concrete fence post, and because it is exactly on the boundary of the "Royal" Forest, OS map makers in 1901 labelled it a BS probably thinking it was one of the 218 placed in 1832. Several Gale Stones are on/near the boundary which gives rise to the urban myth of there being minor BSs on the boundary. Inscription: 20 Milestone Society National ID: GL_COLE20em
