Miners' Welfare Park, Bedworth

This extensive park was established in the 1920s, on land riddled with old mine workings and of little agricultural or building value, as a facility for miners and their families. Coal mining has now disappeared from the Bedworth area (although it is still mined at Daw Mill a few miles to the west), but the name remains as a tribute to the foresight of the Miners' Welfare Committee who originally purchased the land in 1921.
