Old Boundary Marker on the A671 Burnley Road

Parish Boundary Marker in the grounds of Shuttleworth College, over the wall on the north side of the A671 Burnley Road. Inscribed PADIHAM and Habergham Eaves (curved) on opposite sides. On the former boundary of Padiham and Habergham Eaves, a chapelry and a township in Whalley parish respectively which both became parishes in 1866. The boundary was Padiham and Burnley from 1894, and the stone is now entirely in Padiham. Milestone Society National ID: LA_PADI03pb
