St Stephens was the family church of the Earls of Lichfield as well as the parish church of Great Haywood. The 5th Earl of Lichfield was the photographer Patrick Lichfield (1939–2005). The inscription on the grave ledger reads THOMAS GEORGE 2ND EARL OF LICHFIELD BORN 15 AUGUST 1825 DIED JANUARY 7 1892 AND HIS WIFE HARRIOTT GEORGIANA LOUISA BORN JULY 6 1834 MARRIED APRIL 10 1855 DIED APRIL 23 1913 Accepted in the beloved in Whom we have redemption through His Blood Eph 1 6 It has not been possible to use the font or the various font sizes on the grave ledger.
