This is looking north towards Christ Church, which was built in 1867 to serve the growing suburb of Staincliffe. It is in the Gothic Revival style with a tall west tower. This was designed to have a spire, but it was not built. In front is a primary school, probably originally associated with the church, and in between, out of sight, is the vicarage.
