Stumped, former horse chestnut tree

10 years ago this old tree was outwardly healthy throwing off many conkers. 5 years ago one side was clearly dying but still produced spring growth although was dead by 2023. In 2024 the healthier half made a brave effort but by early August it had given up and its leaves started to shrivel up. The tree has been felled and it's very clear how badly it had been infected.
