The former drove road to Abergwesyn passes by Ty'n Cornel hostel, still operated by YHA and volunteers here, with its rusty shed which "brightened" up the view until 2007 when it burnt down and was replaced. The hostel is still open (2024), run by the Elenydd Wilderness Hostels Trust. https://www.elenydd-hostels.co.uk/en It is a comfortable bunkhouse for all walkers nowadays, rather than just "youth".
