Following the waymarked path along the edge of the cliffs. From this vantage point, the tilted, tabular form of the Fair Head Sill can be appreciated in the distance. Strata, probably of Carboniferous age, that once overlay the top of the igneous intrusion have been removed by weathering and glacial erosion. It is interesting, too, that material appears to have been banked at the edge of the nearby cliff. This is not unreasonable, given that the area was under the principal influence of Scottish ice streams.
