Twin tunnels are being bored towards London from the West Ruislip site. As it moves forward a tunnel boring machine (TBM) builds the tunnel lining from the precast sections; it takes seven pieces to make a complete ring. Lined up here are tunnel lining elements in stacks of seven awaiting transfer to a TBM by travelling crane. Photo number 7886923.
