The Doncaster 4 milestone is near a fingerpost indicating a footpath through the woods. But the footpath was diverted and the direction finger removed from the top. The post was painted at the same time as the milestone in 2016 together with the foundry name on the post. ADAMS LTD YORK is vertical between the two black lines.
